Gloria Jones, original singer of Tainted Love, invites you to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the global hit Tainted Love and joins forces with talented producers from around the world, bringing you different new adaptations of this iconic song, continuing to connect different music genres, generations, and cultures.
Coming on April 4th, we are excited to present Tainted Love (Franksen Remix) —bringing this iconic track into the world of house music.
In 1964, Gloria Jones created the original version of Tainted Love. Over the last 60 years, the song has been covered by numerous artists and world stars.
In her unique career, Gloria Jones worked with legends such as The Jackson Five, Jermaine Jackson, Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye, Gladys Knight & the Pips, Ike & Tina Turner, The Commodores, Joe Cocker and many more.
Gloria Jones was nominated for a Grammy in 1971 for Gladys Knight & the Pips' "If I Were Your Woman".
In 2014 the music documentary 20 Feet from Stardom won the Oscar, in which Gloria Jones also appeared.
Gloria Jones was in a relationship with Marc Bolan (T. Rex). They have a son together, Rolan Bolan.
Franksen goes way back in the history of Frankfurt's electronic music scene. For long years he was host, booker and deejay of Germany's eldest weekly radio DJ Show, „hr Clubnight“, sharing decks with each and everyone from Jamie Jones to Loco Dice or from Mousse T. to Dixon, he represented housemusic and electronic club culture 360° for + 15 years.
As a dj, producer, radio and music-journalist he boasts versatile skills. all of which nurture his search for the endless groove. Electronic music’s culture in between Deephouse, Dub, Downtempo and Breaks is on his sound menu – everything goes, really!
Since 2009 Franksen released on influential house labels from Bar25 Music and Houseworxx, to Plastci City, Smile For A While and many more. In 2022 he established his own label TRACK ALLIANCE. Serving his beloved deep and grooving house style.
His funky remix for Gloria Jones’ „Tainted Love“ is an absolute matter of the heart for the producer and dj. Growing up with any form of black music from Motown to classic US Deephouse, Franksen puts the 2024 version of this classic to his house-test. Letting it groove and roll incessantly, while paying homage to the song’s iconic bassline, theme and vibe in a contemporary yet vintage way.
